Camp Tuku | Mindfulness Arizona Summer Camp
ARIZONA SUMMER CAMP WITH A MINDFULNESS APPROACH
Sleepaway summer camps are a pretty unique experience for west coast families and honestly, not very popular in Arizona. Sure there are quite a few options up in Northern Arizona like Flagstaff and Prescott….and most are through churches. Let me tell you about an Arizona summer camp in Mayer, Arizona that offers the traditional sleepaway summer camp experience but with a mindfulness approach.
Introducing… Camp Tuku, the newest overnight Arizona summer camp! My older kids have been a part of Camp Tuku since its first year when it was forced to go virtual due to Covid. But as it teaches our youth to be resilient, it also went through its own resiliency season by continuing to fight for its cause. It has had two different locations in the last two years, but the same incredible programming.
- Pet Care
- Mindfulness
- Yoga
- Land Sports + Watersports
- Kayaking
- Horseback Riding
- Claywork
- Woodworking
- Drama / Theater
- Arts & Crafts
- Innovations
- Campfire Cooking
It includes a mindfulness component in everything Camp Tuku plans for its Arizona Summer Camp campers. Why? Because now more than ever they believe kids need to be aware of their inner selves to combat the forever anxious environment we often find ourselves in.
It has been transformational for my kids – I see them do breathing & meditation practices that they learned at camp. They also talk to me more often about what they are feeling.. And overall, just more aware and mature with their emotions! They also make incredible memories through the amazing camp programming which includes pet care, archery, low ropes course, arts & crafts, innovations, wilderness exploration, archery and so much more!
